So, someone invented ๐ฅ Peepstreaks ๐ฅ to punish me for intermittent peeping. Oh no...
Well, might as well give people a double flame if they can peepstreak through to Twitter. Oh, and triple flame if they peep only! (Twitter account *only* contains peeps made on Peepeth.)

Hi @CallMeGwei how are you? I've been searching for ETH-friendly places little by little then realized there are so few. Less than I expected! Hmm... I'll be searching for some more info so please wait!
Hi @shigako, I'm doing well and appreciate your research. Please don't feel obligated to go very much out of your way. I was just curious how many places were crypto friendly. Had read Japan was ahead of many other places in that regard - that still doesn't mean it is everywhere!

Super late to the party, but trying to understand the hype/see what early interesting apps/toys are being built on #blockchain/#crypto that aren't just exchanges/trading platforms. What should I check out? Caveats: super beginner & SUPER skeptical. Steemit looks interesting
Check out the Brave browser and the idea behind their BAT tokens.
Check out makerDAO and their CDPs.
ICOs and DAOs are not trivial innovations in and of themselves.
If you like gaming, tons of options - but I'll defer to someone that knows that area better.

Welcome! Re:skepticism... The promise is that blockchains can allow us to reorganize the structures we take for granted. Gatekeepers from insurance, to gov, to social media outlets. We can liberate data and encourage collaboration rather than rent seeking.

Hey! Welcome back the USA. How's it feeling? Jetlagged much?
@bevan - since peeps are immutable accounts of the past - it would be cool to be able to jump to certain dates. Scrolling down forever is cool and all, but having a popup calendar or something would be more efficient in certain scenarios.
Random idea.

I've noticed in a few telegrams that some EOS voters are voting for BPs close to their geographic proximity. This is silly. If you're going to vote, vote based on policy or distinguishing community contribution.
Oh, thoughtfully? ...

products with integrity matter
They can matter much more when paired with blockchains - because they can share data with other projects and properly align incentives for everyone involved.
Boosting collaboration is absolutely a crypto superpower. Let's amplify integrity. :-)

Thanks about your response, I have access to Keystore, wallet is Mist wallet. But I didnโt set password, It asks for password. So I canโt send Ethers to my main Ethereum wallet and recover Ethers.
If you try to open the keystore file with MyCrypto - what happens? Is it also asking for a password?
Reading about it briefly - looks like you are not alone ... but most people eventually remember that they *did* set a password.

Overall I agree with this... but as @abcoathup is pointing out - actions, IRL, *can* be forgotten. I'm assuming this is the reason for the "right to be forgotten" legislation. If we don't have a mechanism for forgetting... even the best of us may be remembered by our faux pas.
Of course the joke is a bit extreme ...
Point is, even if we own up our mistakes - our modern society seems better at forgetting than forgiving. Take the former away and the latter may not be able to provide the kind of social cohesion we actually desire.
We need practice.

You can't undo actions. It's a ludicrous proposition. To attempt to 'undo' is an action itself. No wonder we're so messed up if we worry about this nonsense. "I'd like to take back that fart." Right.

@CallMeGwei There should be no delete button. If people dont like the idea of sucking up to there mistakes they are not meant to be on a platform that can be openly respected. This is about being real about yourself online and approaching mistakes that people will inevitably make
I'm not arguing for or against - I was just mulling how to give people what they may want. Other front ends will, no doubt, have some type of ephemeral post types - at least on their front end only...
I agree that immutability seems like a cornerstone of the Peepeth philosophy.

I mined some Bitcoin circa winter of 2009. Decided it wasn't worth heating up my place by summer. I'm very glad I cannot recall how many btc I mined at the time. Long gone. The *importance* of crypto didn't hit until 2016 when I rediscovered it and read quite a lot about it.
All the cool things Bitcoin was supposed to make possible sorta faded into the "store of value" mantra. Ethereum's vision seems much more exciting and empowering for the world - so here I am. Using a dApp and (supposed to be) blogging about the ecosystem.

One option could be as Andrew mentioned to hide the Peeps
Yes, but would that satisfy people that *wanted* delete buttons? I dunno. There seems to be a sharp contrast between hiding and deleting to me.

I have also seen many influential figures - even thought leaders in the crypto space - delete controversial Tweets. I think this may be a reason some of them are avoiding Peepeth. If the world wants a delete button... one can be provided. Blockchain social media could still work
Maybe we could just store hashes of Peeps if people wanted accounts that could delete information... but front end sharing would be more difficult - data would be held hostage again...

(2/2)...if the information turns out to be wrong. But when it's posted and solidified on the blockchain, news source will forever be held accountable for anything they post. One would hope this would better limit the spread of fake or incorrect information. HOPE
Other solutions, (also using blockchains) - such as Brave with their BAT tokens. Or even direct tipping for articles with crypto-based micro-transactions will need to catch on to realign incentives, imho.
There is also the Civil project... so lots of attempts to fix things. ๐

I think this is as much (if not more) a problem of funding. Sure, immutable news might deter some "respectable" outlets from getting too sloppy. BUT if ads and clicks are paying all the bills - sensationalist / borderline misleading information works.

Captchas randomly before peeping to slow them down? Get it wrong a few times and you get flagged as a possible bot by the Peepeth front end?
The alt front ends could all share that kind of info on chain. Would help each community / front end filter and sort peeps if they chose.

I'm in the camp that believes that cross-chain technology will eventually lead to dApps which do not rely on a single blockchain ecosystem.
Sure... hop, skip, jump between chains to get me the result as efficiently/quickly/cheaply as possible. But I care about where my data rests. I don't want it on a chain that might not persist (or maybe for some things I do) - it seems like it matters more ...
Thinking out loud..

I can see this for the user interaction aspect. Using whatever token to interact with dApps seems like a no brainer if there are markets for them all... But for data storage, it seems that the chain matters. If I want something to be immutable, where it is stored matters to me.

Showerthought: Crypto is less a fad and more becoming a culture. People are willing to pay for truth and trust in a trustless way.
So far they've shown an extreme willingness to pay for a chance to get rich, that's for sure. The tides will turn though. When it finally "clicks" why all this matters, let's just hope there's still time left to fix things.
I really need to do more to further the *clickening*...
